User

From The Wajas Wiki
(Redirected from User ID)

User is a term used to describe a person with an account created on wajas. Any player on wajas can be referred to as a user. Users are primarily identified in two ways: their User ID and their Username.

User ID

Location of your ID.

Each user on Wajas has their own User Identification number (also called "Account number" or "User ID"). This number represents the number of accounts which have been created on the site up until the account in question was created; for example, if an account's ID is 120187, that means that it was the 120,187th account created. Lower account numbers generally signify that the owner has been on the site for a long time (though not always, see next section), and as such carry inherent prestige to many users.

You can view your ID right underneath your username in the upper left hand corner of the screen. If you wish to transfer WC, CWP, Wajas, or items to another user, you will need to know their user ID; this is why many users will ask you to post your ID if you post in a giveaway forum or if they wish to send you something. To find another user’s ID, the best place to look is in their signature, since many users post their ID there. If their ID is not in their signature, it can be found by clicking their username and visiting their profile. The ID number used to be displayed along with the username before the 2014 Site Remodel.

There is no way to change your user ID, though you can choose to purchase an account from another user. You can often find accounts for sale in the Sales forum and Item Sales forum.

Account Transfers

Accounts can be bought and sold between users, and accounts with very low IDs are usually valued more than accounts with 6-digit and higher IDs. Likewise, accounts with interesting number combinations (such as 12345 or 101010 ) have some intrinsic value, but usually this fact is secondary to how low the account number is. The lower the account number, the more valuable the account tends to be, with 3, 2, or single digit IDs being the most valuable.

Account Pricing

Pricing is subjective, but 4 digit or less account numbers typically sell for 100 CWP or more. Five digit accounts are becoming more valuable and can sell for 20 CWP or more. Price can vary depending on the following account perks:

  • Cave Size - The more wajas it can hold, the more valuable
  • Upgrade Remaining - Forever Upgraded accounts are worth significantly more regardless of ID number
  • Achievements and progress towards
  • Nicola the Genius turn ins. After 5 turn ins the user can choose what dye they get
  • Any items, currency, or wajas to be left on the account
  • Pear Streak from the Daily Pear Game
  • Flower Patch may or may not increase the value, depending how important it is to the buyer.

Usernames

A username, also known as a display name or nickname, is the name by which a user is identified on wajas. This is not to be confused with a login name (which is the name you enter when logging into the site and cannot be changed). It is advised that you not have your username and login name be the same, as this could make it easier for someone to break into your account.

While the primary purpose of a username is to give players a name by which they can identify you, many players utilize their usernames to quickly convey information to other users. This includes, but is not limited to, advertising their sales (i.e. "Qwerty has sales!") and letting other users know that they are away or busy ("Qwerty - On Hiatus"). Around the holidays it has become a tradition to change your username to something festive (Such as "Ghostly Tailz" for halloween vs just "Tailz".)

Changing your username

Because user accounts are primarily identified by their user ID, the name displayed for a user is freely changeable at any time. To edit your user name, go to your Settings. The default tab will be "Preferences", so you will need to click the "Profile" tab. From here you will be able to see a field labeled "Nickname". It is in this field that you can enter your new user name. Simply press "submit" when you're satisfied.

There are some things to keep in mind when choosing a username.

  • The Terms of Service must still be adhered to. This means no swears, no targeting, no racism, etc.
  • User names can only be no longer than 20 characters.
  • While not a rule, it is generally advisable to make sure your username is easily readable to others. Try to avoid using symbols as key parts of your name, as not all browsers can read these symbols and other users may not know what to call you.
  • It is also advisable to avoid using an overly common username. While you are free to make your username "Wolf", there are likely to be several other users that also have Wolf in their name and this may cause confusion.
